Online Scheduling

Page Content

Please read before scheduling:

  • Online appointments are available for no more than two weeks in advance.  However, some first time appointments are reserved for students who call our office.  If you do not see an appointment that works with your schedule, please call us at 601.266.4829 during regular business hours (M-F, 8A-5P) to schedule an appointment.  For immediate needs, walk-in appointments are available.
  • Online scheduling is only offered for new services & intakes. If you are already receiving counseling services or have received counseling services in the past at Student Counseling Services, please discuss appointments with your therapist or contact 601-266-4829 to reschedule.
  • If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please visit our office at Bond Hall today or call 601-266-4829 immediately. You can receive support with no appointment 24/7.
  • Please keep in mind, we do not have a waitlist.  If you have a service need, please call or take advantage of our walk in services.

New Client Scheduling Information:

  • After scheduling your first intake appointment, we advise you to add it to your calendar or write it down where you won't forget.  We do not currently do appointment reminders.  There will be pre-appointment paperwork associated with this meeting, so we encourage you to arrive 10-15 minutes early.
  • Due to services committed to other students, if you arrive more than 15 minutes late to an Intake, you will need to reschedule. Please call 601-266-4829 to reschedule.
  • Intake appointments typically last 60 minutes, in-person, at our office in Bond Hall.

What is an Intake appointment?

  • Intake appointments serve as an opportunity for staff to quickly assess the best fit for your needs and make recommendations. Intake appointments are not counseling sessions. However, by the end of the screener, you and the staff will discuss resources for campus or community referrals related to counseling and more.
  • The staff will ask about your concerns, symptoms, and needs. They will, also, gather information about your past mental health treatment (if any). From there, you will receive a recommendation for mental health care or other resources. The staff will help you with scheduling a follow-up appointment online or at our site if that is their recommendation.
