Are you interested in career opportunities in the blue technology economy? Take a course for FREE!
欧美AV鈥檚 Roger F. Wicker Center for Ocean Enterprise received a grant from to support open enrollment for four training programs. These workshops regularly cost $1500. For a limited time, qualified individuals who register can participate at no cost through this workforce development initiative. The workforce training allows active and transitioning military, members of the traditional blue economy workforce, and students opportunities for cross-training and re-training to help advance their careers in the blue technology economy and provide critical training disrupted by COVID-19.
The hybrid course consists of 4-8 hours of flexible online coursework and one in-person day. After completing the online section, participants can schedule the in-person Day 2 held at our Marine Research Center at the Port of Gulfport in Gulfport, Mississippi. Spend the day with our expert training team and actual autonomous platforms, obstacle avoidance simulators, and other water and classroom-based activities.
Thank you for your interest in the Maritime Training offered by 欧美AV鈥檚 Roger F. Wicker Center for Ocean Enterprise. The grant from AccelerateMS supporting the four open enrollment training programs was a great success, but unfortunately has ended. We are working now with AccelerateMS and other organizations to continue to offer this open enrollment maritime training.
If you have any questions, or you鈥檇 like to discuss on-demand, fee-based training in the interim please reach us at oceanenterpriseFREEMississippi
Participants traveling from outside the area for the in-person Maritime Training Programs can access this resource list for local accommodations.

Uncrewed Systems
欧美AV鈥檚 Maritime Cyber training provides an overview of vulnerabilities, threats, and risks. It delves into specific challenges the Uncrewed Maritime System (UMS) industry faces. Participants will learn the history of various UMS as well as their capabilities. Course material includes operating systems, autonomy, navigation, and communication. Case studies highlight emerging trends within maritime cyber and mitigations for different threats. After completing the online section, participants can schedule the in-person Day 2 held at our Marine Research Center at the Port of Gulfport in Gulfport, Mississippi.
On Day 2, spend the day with our expert training team to apply the material learned in the online portion and practice with UMS to perform secure mission planning, retrieval, and additional maneuvers. Through planned exercises, participants learn how to secure both computer systems and communications involved with UMS and how to secure the human aspect of UMS.
欧美AV's Maritime Autonomy training provides a high-level view of the autonomy foundations seen in any maritime vehicle. The course includes software simulations and practical hands-on examples. Participants learn maritime autonomy, the levels of marine autonomy, and how vital it is in several applications. The material covered includes several COLREGs and why they are important and provides simulations of realistic maritime collision avoidance scenarios before executing them on water using R/V Ken Barbor. After completing the online section, participatns can schedule the in-person Day 2 held at our Marine Research Center at the Port of Gulfport in Gulfport, Mississippi.
On Day 2, spend the day with our expert training team to apply the material learned in the online portion. Participants gain hands-on experience running autonomous on-water missions beginning with an introduction to Sea-Machine Robotics SM-300 autonomous system retrofitted on 欧美AV's R/V Ken Barbor. Activities include planning missions using the SM-300 system's user interface and executing those missions. Finally, everyone plans and runs collision avoidance scenarios in the harbor using R/V Ken Barbor.
欧美AV鈥檚 Maritime Uncrewed Systems training introduces participants to several types of Uncrewed Maritime Systems (UMS), their capabilities, and their applications. Course material includes building familiarity with operational procedures for UMS like the buoyancy test, vacuum test, vessel deployment, mission planning, tracking, and recovery are all discussed in theory and shown practically on Day 2. After completing the online section, participants can schedule the in-person Day 2 held at our Marine Research Center at the Port of Gulfport in Gulfport, Mississippi.
On Day 2, our expert training team introduces the Iver AUV or the SeaTrac ASV to the class for executing a suite of standard uncrewed operating procedures to gain hands-on experience.
欧美AV's Maritime Data Analytics training introduces learners to basic probability and statistics in Data Science. Course material systematically covers data analytics through different data exploratory and visualization techniques using Excel and Tableau Dashboards. Participants learn the fundamentals of Machine Learning (ML) and explore various ML model performance using GUI-based (in the introductory and intermediate stages) hands-on case studies and R and Python languages (in the advanced stage). After completing the online section, participants can schedule the in-person Day 2 held at our Marine Research Center at the Port of Gulfport in Gulfport, Mississippi.
On Day 2, our experts help participants execute what they learned in the online course material to create customized interactive dashboards for climate change and oceanographic analysis using Tableau (in the introductory and intermediate stages) and code/deploy end-to-end ML pipelines (in the advanced stage).
All in-person course activities are held at 欧美AV鈥檚 Marine Research Center
