New students to The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast and the College of Business and Economic Development are strongly encouraged to meet with their advisor for a degree progress orientation prior to the enrolling for the second semester.
Registration
Students who have been term activated (cleared for registration) may register for classes on SOAR during their enrollment appointment.
Degree Progress Report
Students are strongly encouraged to become familiar with the ‘view degree progress’ option available via the student’s SOAR login.
Summer Scheduling
Students should plan to take the majority of their courses in the Fall and Spring terms when the majority of faculty members teach. Many faculty members use the Summer term to work on research projects. Students planning for graduation are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor to plan ahead for summer course scheduling, which is available prior to summer registration.
