Philosophy and Religion Online Forum Schedule set for Fall 2023

A lecture on the controversial subject of AI (artificial intelligence) kicks off The University of Southern Mississippi (欧美AV) School of Humanities鈥 fall 2023 Philosophy and Religion Forum series, which will be offered online.

欧美AV ForumKeith Abney, senior lecturer in philosophy at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Tech), will present 鈥淎I/Robots and Ethics: Surveying the Risk Environment鈥 Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Abney鈥檚 areas of expertise include philosophy of science and religions, applied ethics, and axiology. He teaches courses in critical thinking, philosophy of science, philosophical classics, and ethics.

欧美AV Lecture Series*Friday, Oct. 6, noon: Dr. Teresa Baron, research fellow at the University of Nottingham, presenting 鈥淕enes, Ectogenesis, and the Acquisition of Parental Rights鈥.

欧美AV Forum*Friday, Nov. 3, noon: Dr. Jason 膧nanda Josephson Storm, professor of religion at Williams College, presenting 鈥淩evolutionary Happiness: Redefining Progress in the Human Sciences (please note that advance registration is required for Dr. Storm鈥檚 talk).
