欧美AV Office of Research Integrity Co-Hosting Feb. 19 Conference with UMMC

A discussion of research integrity issues raised during the Covid-19 Pandemic will be the focus of a Feb. 19 virtual conference to be co-hosted by The University of Southern Mississippi (欧美AV) Office of Research Integrity and the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) Division of Continuing Health Professional Education.

鈥淩esearch Integrity Southeast 鈥21: in the Wake of a Global Pandemic鈥 will be held from 8:45 a.m. 鈥 4:15 p.m. and presented virtually via BigBlueButton. Allied health care professionals, dentists, physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners and health care profession students are invited to attend.

The goals of the conference are provision of a venue for interprofessional education and dialogue, facilitation of networking and sharing of practical guidance, increasing integrity-related preparedness, and encouraging collaborative use of resources. After participating in the event, attendees will be able to discuss issues of research integrity raised or modified during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • NIH award to study COVID-19, community engagement

  • Pediatric Clinical Research Challenges: Response to COVID-19 and Directions for Future Research
  • Publishing in a Pandemic: COVID-19鈥檚 Effect on Preprints and Open Science

Among the presenters for the conference will be 欧美AV Vice President for Research Dr. Gordon Cannon. 欧美AV faculty members assisting with organizing the conference are Dr. Sam Bruton, director, Office of Research Integrity; Andrea Blake, a Ph.D. candidate in the 欧美AV School of Education; and Gina Fiorentini-Wright, lecturer in the 欧美AV College of Nursing and Health Professions.
