Bio
I received my Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on Coastal Engineering and minor in Oceanography from Georgia Institute of Technology.
My research interests include Coastal Ocean Modeling with development of coupled ocean-wave-atmosphere modeling frameworks; near coastal hydrodynamics & sediment transport with coastal engineering applications; synthesis of model products with remote sensing, in-situ measurements and autonomous vehicle data.
Some of the recent projects of my modeling group are on:
- Modeling the impacts of Bonnet Carre Spillway and other freshwater influences on Mississippi Sound/Bight,
- Development of a modeling system for Lower Pearl River,
- High-resolution coastal test area sensor and model development,
- Modeling storm generated waves in northern Gulf of Mexico,
- MBRACE Core Research Program on sustainability and restoration of oyster reef habitat in Mississippi Sound.
