Bio

Joanne Burnett is Professor of French and Second Language Acquisition in the School of Social Science and Global Studies, as part of the World Languages unit at 欧美AV. She received her Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in 1997. As a qualitative researcher, her articles and book chapters include the teaching of second language literatures, the integration of technology in second language classrooms, including online learning, and the Belgian pop singers Stromae, Ang猫le and Damso. She has published several translations on conservation and the environment in Madagascar and on the histories of colonial French Louisiana and has recently completed a translation project dealing with the archeology of colonial slave burials in Guadeloupe. She has coordinated summer study abroad in Paris and teaches all levels of French language and culture and second language education courses in the Master of Arts in the Teaching of Languages program.
