Background
Section 807 of the Policies and By-laws of the IHL Board authorizes the institutions
to develop intellectual properties and to participate in the income derived therein.
Definition
Intellectual property means:
- any patentable materials
- copyrighted materials
- trademarks
- software, and
- trade secrets, whether or not formal protection is sought.
AUTHORITY FOR POLICY DEVELOPMENT
Each institution is hereby directed to develop policies consistent with Section 807 for the management of its unique intellectual properties in each institution鈥檚 unique environment.
