The mission of Southern Miss Campus Recreation is to provide quality and comprehensive programs, services, and facilities that enhance recreation and wellness for the university community, while supporting the educational mission of the university through student learning and development.
Campus Recreation is proud to be a part of 欧美AV Division of Student Affairs. Students at all Southern Miss satellite facilities are welcome to show their student IDs and use the Payne Center while they are on the Hattiesburg campus.
Southern Miss Campus Recreation is a member of NIRSA, the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association.

Activity Courts
The 27,000 square-foot gymnasium houses four multi-purpose courts that can be converted
to four sanctioned high school-sized basketball courts, four internationally sanctioned
volleyball courts, or six internationally sanctioned badminton courts. It also features
two sets of permanent bleachers seating over 400 people, eight scoreboards, recreational
and competitive lighting systems, and programmable sound systems.
Track
The one-eighth of a mile, four-lane exercise track is located above the activity courts
providing an inviting environment to walk or jog year-round. Additional features include
two resting stations with drinking fountains and spittoons.
WorkOut Zone
The 7,900 square-foot WorkOut Zone offers an energetic fitness environment designed
to help you reach your fitness goals. Included is a 35-piece cardiovascular area,
8,000 pounds of free weight equipment and over 40 pieces of selectorized equipment.
Wisteria Circuit Training Room
The Wisteria Circuit Training Room is a weight training circuit designed to be a concentrated,
time-efficient, total-body workout. It has eleven resistance machines and aerobic
training stations.
M.C. Johnson Natatorium
The M.C. Johnson Natatorium features a 25-yard, 6-lane indoor pool. The pool includes
a diving well with 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. It is heated and maintained at
84 degrees Fahrenheit year-round.
Pride Field
Pride Field is a beautiful two-acre artificial turf complex managed by Campus Recreation
and home to The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band. This complex is designed to provide
a safe and durable playing surface for the University community to enjoy.
